Margaret A.8 Whitney (Abner7, (William6, Abner5, John4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), daughter of Abner7 and Annis M. (Phinney) Whitney, was born 1 Aug 1838, Hiram, ME, and died 1 Jul 1918, Portland, ME.

She married, 29 Mar 1863, Portland, ME, Josiah Remick, son of William F. and Mary Webster (Ricker) Remick. He was born 27 Aug 1834, Saco, ME, and died 16 May 1879, Portland, ME.

Josiah Remick was a veteran of the Civil War. He served as Quartermaster Sergeant and as Lieutenant, 17th Maine Infantry Regiment. His widow Margaret received a Widow's Pension as a result of his service. Margaret lived the last thirty years of her life in Portland, ME, and before that resided in Cambridge, MA.

They had no children.
