Family:Whitney, Norman Gustavus (c1836-a1880)

Norman Gustavus⁸ Whitney (Jesse Bedient⁷, William⁶, Hezekiah⁵, Hezekiah⁴, Joseph³, John², Henry¹), son of Jesse Bedient⁷ and Hannah (Estabrook) Whitney, was born about 1836, VT. and died after 1880, said 1900, MN.

He married, Mariah Louisa Woods. She was born about 1843, VT.

He was a clergyman; served in Co. I, 7th Wisconsin Infantry, in the Civil War. He was wounded Gainesville, VA, 28 Aug 1862.

Enlisted from Wautoma, Waushara Co., WI, on 2 Aug 1861 as a Private. Discharged 13 Nov 1862 (disability). He was wounded 28 Aug 1862 at Gainesville, VA (Brawner's Farm)/

On 22 Jul 1866, he applied for a pension based on his service as a Private in Co. I, 7th Wisconsin Infantry.
