Russell⁸ Whitney (Samuel Vincent⁸, Samuel⁷, Silas⁶, Samuel⁵, William⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Samuel Vincent⁸ and Sarah Ann (Russell) Whitney, was born 13 Nov 1844, Ashburnham, MA,^[1] and died 12 Feb 1906, Hyde Park, MA, aged 60 years 2 months 4 days, of a railroad accident.^[2] He was buried in Leominster, MA.

He married, 11 Jun 1867, Ashburnham, MA, Maria Metcalf, daughter of Joel F. and Martha (Davis) Metcalf.^[3] She was born 25 Dec 1846, Ashburnham, MA, and died after 1900.

They resided Gardner, MA.
