Russell8 Whitney (Samuel Vincent8, Samuel7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Samuel Vincent8 and Sarah Ann (Russell) Whitney, was born 13 Nov 1844, Ashburnham, MA,[1] and died 12 Feb 1906, Hyde Park, MA, aged 60 years 2 months 4 days, of a railroad accident.[2] He was buried in Leominster, MA.

He married, 11 Jun 1867, Ashburnham, MA, Maria Metcalf, daughter of Joel F. and Martha (Davis) Metcalf.[3] She was born 25 Dec 1846, Ashburnham, MA, and died after 1900.

They resided Gardner, MA.
