Family:Whitney, Thaddeus P. (1847-1909)
Thaddeus P.8 Whitney (Zebulon7, Eli6, Zebulon5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Zebulon7 and Susan (Morton) Whitney, was born 26 Sep 1847, Gorham, ME, and died 10 Oct 1909, Gorham, ME.
He married, 4 Oct 1876, Boston, MA, Emma D. Marean or Emma J. Marine, daughter of Thomas and Matilda (-----) Marine.[1] She was born Feb 1856, NS, and died after 1900. They must have been divorced. She married secondly, 18 Mar 1895, Everett, MA, Francis Berube, son of Hyacinth and Apoline (-----) Berube, born about 1867, Canada, and died after 1900.[2]
Thaddeus was a farmer, and resided in Gorham in the censuses of 1850 through 1880. In 1880 he was listed as the Superintendent of the Gorham Town Farm, which appears to be a home for paupers. In the 1900 census he is listed as an inmate of the Maine Insane Hospital in Augusta, ME. He is then a widower [sic]. He is buried in the North Street Cemetey in Gorham, ME. His cemetery record says he was the son of Zebulon and Hannah, but his mother was Susan.

i. Ethel M.9 Whitney, b. Jun 1877, Gorham, ME; m. 9 Mar 1905, Chelsea, MA [recorded in Everett, MA], Albert Y. Tucker, b. ca. 1882, Chelsea, MA, son of George R. and Margaret (Smith) Tucker.[3]
