Charles M. Whitney was born in 1833 or 1834 in MA.1,2 He died on 17 Mar 1900 in Vancouver, British Columbia.3
He married Laura Acenith (----)1,2 in 1859 or 18602.
Laura was born c. 1835 in Chester, VT.4 She died on 22 Dec 18934 in New Westminster, British Columbia.
They lived in Troy for several years, while Charles was working as a lawyer.
By 1880 he is living in St. Louis, where he is listed variously as a lawyer and an editor.1
By 1890, we find Charles and his son, Charles Francis, both living near Vancouver, British Columbia. Charles M. started a newspaper there, and apparently started going by the name "Mayo" (his middle name?)
He died on 17 Mar 1900 in Vancouver, BC.3
