Charles M. Whitney was born in 1833 or 1834 in MA. 1, 2 He died on 17 Mar 1900 in Vancouver, British Columbia. 3
He married Laura Acenith (----) 1, 2 in 1859 or 1860 2.
Laura was born c. 1835 in Chester, VT. 4 She died on 22 Dec 1893 4 in New Westminster, British Columbia.
They lived in Troy for several years, while Charles was working as a lawyer.
By 1880 he is living in St. Louis, where he is listed variously as a lawyer and an editor. 1
By 1890, we find Charles and his son, Charles Francis, both living near Vancouver, British Columbia. Charles M. started a newspaper there, and apparently started going by the name "Mayo" (his middle name?)
He died on 17 Mar 1900 in Vancouver, BC. 3
