Family:Whitney, Mason (1765-a1850)

Mason⁶ Whitney (Micah⁵, James⁴, John³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Micah⁵ and Lydia (Mason) Whitney, was born 16 Dec 1765, Natick, MA, and died after 1820, Newport, NY.

He married, 29 Mar 1792, Mendon, MA, Dolly Rawson, both "of Uxbridge",^[1] daughter of Timothy and Chloe (Fish) Rawson. She was born 10 Mar 1768, Uxbridge, MA, and died 1803.

Children of Mason⁶ and Dolly (Rawson) Whitney (probably incomplete):

i.	Harriet7 Whitney, b. say 1793, Newport, NY; d. 1865; m. 1812, Capt. John Knapp.
ii.	Maria Whitney, b. 31 May 1795, Newport, NY; d. 22 Jun 1863, Jefferson Co., NY; m. 25 Dec 1820, Isaac Wells.
iii.	Erastus Whitney, b. 13 Jul 1797, Newport, NY; d. 16 Oct 1854, Philadelphia, NY; m. 4 Jun 1826, Jefferson Co., NY, Betsy Chadwick.
iv.	Chauncy Whitney, b. say 1799.
iv.	Luna Whitney, b. say 1802; d. 1841.

• 1800, Herkimer, Herkimer Co., NY: Mason Whitney, 1 male 26-44, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 0-9, 1 female over 45, 1 female 26-44, and 3 females 0-9.
• 1810, Henderson, Jefferson Co., NY: Erastus Whitney, 3 males 16-25 and 2 females 16-25. This was his son Erastus and probably his siblings.
• 1820, Newport, Herkimer Co., NY: Mason Whitney, 1 male over 45, 1 male 18-25, 1 male 10-15, 1 female over 45, 1 female 16-25, and 1 female 10-15; 2 engaged in agriculture.
