Oscar Fitzoland⁷ Whitney (John⁶, Abijah⁵, Daniel⁴, Henry³, John², Henry¹), son of John⁶ and Susanna (Smith) Whitney, was born 24 Sep 1805, Florida, NY, and died after May 1875, Florida, NY.

He married, 23 Aug 1826, Florida, NY, Christian Ann Cary, daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Jennings) Cary, by Rev. Charles Cummins, Presbyterian. She was born 7 Oct 1808, Summerville, NY, and died 26 Nov 1886, Florida, NY.

Phoenix says the following:

"... a carpenter; .... She lived with her uncle, Richard Jennings, of Florida. They settled in Florida, and were dwelling there in May 1875.
