Reuben E.⁹ Whitney (William W.⁸, John Rodman⁷, William⁶, Thomas⁵, William⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of William W.⁸ and Ann (Sigsworth) Whitney, was born 20 Mar 1847, OH, and died 7 Mar 1877, Camden, OH.

He married, 31 Jul 1867 or 17 Feb 1875, Isabella Davidson. daughter of Henry and Sarah (McLaughlin) Davidson. She was born 5 May 1851, PA, and died 1 Jun 1907, Camden, OH. She married secondly, 9 Aug 1878, Lorain Co., OH, Frank D. Sigsworth, son of John Reed and Emily Jane (Coltrin) Sigsworth, born 19 Jun 1854, Camden, OH, and died 1 Sep 1941, Camden, OH. He was a first cousin of her first husband.

He was called "Rowell" in 1850 census.
