Merrill E.8 Whitney (Eliphalet7, Eliphalet6, Joshua5, Joshua4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Eliphalet7 and Sally (Ryan) Whitney, was born 1823, and died 23 Aug 1883, Cape Elizabeth, ME, aged 38 years.[1] He is buried in Browns Hill Cemetery, Portland, ME.
He married, 7 Feb 1857, Portland, ME, Martha E. Fickett, "both of Cape Elizabeth".[2] She was born about 1834, ME, and died after 1880.
