22 Oct 1734, it was reported that Josiah Whitney of Wrentham was an idiot, distracted person, or non compos person. The court appointed William Man, Timo. Metcalf,Pelatiah Man, John Guile, and Nathaniel Ware (or any three of them) to inspect Josiah Whitney.
11 Nov 1734, Timothy Metcalf, John Guile, and Nathaniel Ward, and Pelatiah Man, all selectmen of Wrentham, reported that Josiah Whitney is "so far wanting of reason and understanding as not to be capeabel of managing his owne affairs."
