Ephraim8 Whitney (Daniel7, Daniel6, Daniel5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Daniel7 and Sarah (Marble) Whitney, was born 19 Sep 1817,[1] Stow, MA,[2] and died 2 Jan 1899, Harvard, MA, aged 81 years 3 months, of paralysis.[3].

He married, 22 Jul 1850, Still River, MA, Mary Haskell. She was born 6 Dec 1825,[4] Harvard, MA, and died 20 Jul 1893, Harvard, MA, aged 67 years, of disease of the heart.[5]

He resided Ashburnham, Harvard, and Still River, MA.

ii. Helen F. Whitney, b. 7 Apr 1854; m. 22 Mar 1893, Harvard, MA, Royal Cheney, b. ca. 1829, Derby, VT, son of Moody and Alice (Whitney) Cheney;[7] resided Still River, MA.
iii. Arthur Sumner Whitney, b. 16 May 1856, Ashburnham, MA;[8] d. 24 Oct 1907, Chico, CA; bur. Chico Cemetery, Chico, CA;[9] m. 17 Apr 1877, Harvard, MA, Alice A. McIntyre, b. ca. 1857, Somerville, MA, dau. of James E. and Anna D. (-----) McIntyre.[10] Children:
a. Edward A.10 Whitney, b. 29 Jan 1878, Boxborough, MA;[11] d. 6 Jul 1880, Ayer, MA, aged 2 years 3 months 16 days, of acute hydrocephalus.[12]

v. Alfred R. Whitney, b. 7 Sep 1864, Ashburnham, MA,[17] but 14 Sep 1862 [Pierce]; d. 25 Feb 1883, Harvard, MA, aged 20 years 5 months 11 days, of disease of heart.[18]
