Lydia5 Whitney (Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), daughter of Abel4 and Mary (Cane) Whitney, was born 31 Jul 1746 at York, ME,[1] and died 29 Oct 1834 at Gorham, ME, at age 88.
Lydia married, 3 Jul 1766, Gorham, ME, John Burnell,[2] son of Joseph and Sarah (Dodd) Burnell. He was born circa 1743, Gorham, ME, or 1745, North Yarmouth, ME, and died 13 Jan 1822, Gorham, ME.
John was a Revolutionary War soldier.

He was a Private in Colonel Brewer's Regiment in the Massachusetts troops. He was a ship's carpenter by trade. In 1820, he was 75 years old, and Lydia was 74. He had been supported by his son for the past 10 years.
