Family:Whitney, Lydia (1746-1834)

Lydia⁵ Whitney (Abel⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), daughter of Abel⁴ and Mary (Cane) Whitney, was born 31 Jul 1746 at York, ME,^[1] and died 29 Oct 1834 at Gorham, ME, at age 88.

Lydia married, 3 Jul 1766, Gorham, ME, John Burnell,^[2] son of Joseph and Sarah (Dodd) Burnell. He was born circa 1743, Gorham, ME, or 1745, North Yarmouth, ME, and died 13 Jan 1822, Gorham, ME.

John was a Revolutionary War soldier.

He was a Private in Colonel Brewer's Regiment in the Massachusetts troops. He was a ship's carpenter by trade. In 1820, he was 75 years old, and Lydia was 74. He had been supported by his son for the past 10 years.

v.	Samuel Burnell, b. 22 Sep 1778, Gorham, ME; d. 3 Jun 1843, Gorham, ME; m. Jan 1808, Harrison, ME, Jane Richardson.
