Rev. Peter7 Whitney (Peter6, Aaron5, Moses4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Peter6 and Julia (Lambert) Whitney, was born 19 Jan 1770, Northborough, MA,[1] and died 3 Apr [Pierce] or 3 Mar 1843, Quincy, MA, aged 73 years.[2]

He married 30 Apr 1800, Hingham, MA, Jane Lambert Lincoln,[3] daughter of Nathan and Martha (Fearing) Lincoln. She was born 24 Dec 1775, Hingham, MA, and died 11 Nov 1832, Quincy, MA, aged 57 years.[4]

Rev. Peter Whitney was born in Northborough. He entered Harvard College in 1787, taught school winters and graduated in 1791. Soon after he went to Hingham, where he was appointed assistant preceptor in Derby Academy 25 Jul 1791. He was elected, 21 Apr 1813, one of the trustees, and was president of the board for twenty-four years, resigning in 1837. He began preaching as early as 1793. In 1796 he preached in Hull. He was ordained pastor at Quincy, 8 Feb 1800. His death occurred in 1843, when he fell from a chair and expired. He was a member of the legislature in 1825. Many of his discourses were published. He resided Quincy, MA.
