Webster8 Whitney (Amasa7, William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Amasa7 and Mary (Goodridge) Whitney, was born 6 Oct 1803, Winchendon, MA,[1] and died 19 Apr 1872, Winchendon, MA, aged 68 years 6 months 13 days, of [?trauneatis?] rupture of artery in stomach followed by perforation of the stomach.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 20 Jan 1828, Winchendon, MA, for him and Eliza Parks Whitman,[3] He "of Winchendon" married, 6 Mar 1828, Lincoln, MA, Eliza Parks Whitman,[4] daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Parks) Whitman. She was born 11 Jan 1801, Stow, MA, and died 4 Mar 1867, Winchendon, MA, aged 66 years 1 month 23 days, of paralysis.[5]

Webster Whitney was a native of Winchendon, where he always resided, and where he was a respected and honored citizen. He was first elected town clerk in 1832, and from that time until his death, in 1872, served the town in that capacity. He was assessor from 1836 to 1840; town treasurer, 1834 to 1836, and selectman for eleven years. He was a faithful and efficient public servant, and highly esteemed for his many sterling qualities and strict honesty. He resided Winchendon, MA.
